Plantation Drive
Plantation is one of the most visible environmental activities in India. Every monsoon, thousands of drives are organised, records are attempted, photographs are taken, and sapling counts are celebrated. Yet the real measure of success is not how many trees were planted in a day, but how many are alive years later.
At Amulya Boondh Foundation, we believe that sustainability cannot be reduced to planting trees alone. Nature is protected as much by repairing an old appliance instead of replacing it, reusing what we already own, reducing waste, conserving water, and making thoughtful everyday choices. A change in mindset has a far greater environmental impact than a single plantation drive. That is the approach we bring to all our work.
When we conduct plantation drives, our focus is never on numbers. We dont rely on Saplings distributed free of cost by the Forest Department. Instead we choose indigenous species that naturally belong to that region. Every plantation is planned according to the local geography, soil conditions and the existing ecosystem. If a campus already has enough shade trees, we introduce fruit-bearing trees, native shrubs, bushes and climbers to improve biodiversity instead of simply adding more of the same.
Our goal is simple: survival over statistics. We would rather see 100 healthy trees growing years later than claim thousands planted for a single day’s achievement. Every plantation is treated as the beginning of a long-term responsibility, not the end of an event.
